Elementary and Secondary Education Act (NCLB)

The Flowing Wells School District is committed to the academic achievement of all students. In an effort to provide additional resources and measure student performance, the district participates in the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) act. NCLB was initially signed into law in 2002 and has the fundamental goal of all students achieving mastery on the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) by 2014. In order to measure each school and the district progress, the NCLB legislation created an academic measure called Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). AYP determinations are calculated and communicated to the public on a yearly basis.
